Add multilingual UI support with automatic system-language detection

I would also like to suggest multilingual UI support for Ember as the user base grows internationally. Ideally, on first launch Ember could automatically select its interface language based on the Windows display language, with English used as the fallback when the system language is not supported. I think the behavior could be: Detect the Windows display language automatically on first launch. Use the matching Ember translation when available. Fall back to English for unsupported languages. Add a Language option in Settings so the user can manually override the automatic choice. Once the user explicitly selects a language, remember that preference and do not change it automatically afterward. For example: Settings → General → Language System default English 简体中文 繁體中文 Deutsch Français ... I would prefer System default to be the default option, rather than choosing a language from the user's region or geographic location. The Windows display language is a much better indication of which UI language the user actually wants. I think this would fit Ember particularly well because the application already has a very small and focused interface, so the amount of UI text that needs localization appears relatively manageable. It would also make Ember much easier to recommend internationally, especially to users who may be less comfortable using an English-only desktop application.

Thanks! This is planned. It will come once Ember is more stable. At the moment features, menus and Settings still change almost every week, and each change would have to be translated into every language. That would slow down everything else. Once the interface settles down, localization is next.
